Obituary

Joy Regina Horn, 73 passed away at Kaiser Permenante in San Francisco, CA on March 22, 2009. She was born on August 19th, 1935 in McKeesport, PA. She was preceded in death by her husband Maurice Horn and survived by her two children Guy and Kim, her cats Alex and Oreo, her two grandchildren Rachael and Justin and her many adopted children she has taken in along the way. Joy grew up in East Pennsylvania by her mother, grandmother and aunt. In 1944 Joy moved to the Westcoast with her sister and mother Frances Dills a very accomplished real estate agent of her time. Joy's started her life being very interested in business, stock market and real estate. In 1950 she met her first husband and born her two children Guy and Kim. During this time she worked doing various accounting jobs and property managment, working alot of free-lance jobs so she could spend time with her children. Once her two children were grown she took up traveling around the globe where ever she could. In the early 1960's Joy was the President of the Pacifica Womens club and Chairmen of the Easter Seal Society, along with volunteering at several other organizations. In 1974 Joy had obtained her pilots license and in 1976 she had purchased her own airplane. Joy was still actively flying up until this year. In her more recent years she lead a dual life in San Francisco and Truckee, CA enjoying the benefits of both cities. Joy had always been very giving throughout her life she has made hundreds of donations throughout her life to several societies and helped several family friends in need. She has touched the hearts of many throughout her life, helped many for nothing in return. She will be dearly missed by many, family and friends that know her from her different associations, including: Humane Society DeYoung Fine Arts Museum, Historical Society, Hospice, Cancer Society, Tahoe Forest Hospital.
